Firm Secures Dismissal of All Criminal Charges Against Client

  • Client Win

August 31, 2023—The Firm secured dismissal of all counts for our client, a prominent workers’ compensation lawyer, accused of participating in an unlawful insurance referral scheme that was once touted by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office as a case involving the largest number of attorneys charged in one case in Orange County history.

After six years—and multiple criminal complaints and indictments—all charges have been dismissed.  An Orange County Superior Court judge issued the dismissal, with prejudice, in an 11-page order finding that the charges against our client were barred by the statute of limitations and failed to provide him with constitutionally adequate notice.  The dismissal comes after the Firm filed multiple rounds of briefing over a period of years, each round attacking different versions of the allegations against our client.
