Spertus, Landes & Josephs Welcomes Maybelline Mena-Hadyka

April 16, 2024 – We are proud to announce that Maybelline Mena-Hadyka has joined the firm as Counsel.

Maybelline Mena-Hadyka is a civil and white-collar litigator with extensive experience guiding clients through intricate internal investigations and navigating inquiries from regulatory and enforcement bodies. She has handled a broad spectrum of matters, including defending against and investigating allegations spanning sexual misconduct, race and gender discrimination, marketing practices, antitrust violations, public corruption, and fraud and embezzlement.

Prior to joining the firm Maybelline served as Counsel at the Los Angeles office of O’Melveny & Myers.

Maybelline served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Harry T. Edwards of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and the Honorable John Michael Vazquez of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She also gained invaluable experience as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Alison J. Nathan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Maybelline earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and received numerous prestigious scholarships and awards, including the NYU Law Vanderbilt Medal, AnBryce Scholarship, Minority Corporate Counsel Association Scholarship, Just the Beginning Scholarship, and Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys Scholarship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies with Distinction in General Scholarship, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California at Berkeley.
