Michelle Sosa-Acosta joined the Firm in 2022 after serving as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Santa Barbara.

Michelle has vast experience in civil litigation matters in state and federal courts, and has advised on municipal matters and corporate regulatory matters. She began her career at an international law firm in San Francisco, primarily working on securities litigation and internal investigations. She has also served as an advocate for various organizations. She was a certified legal intern for the Housing Litigation Clinic of the East Bay Community Law Center, where she represented low-income clients in landlord-tenant litigation. As a member of the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project, she worked closely with a client serving a life sentence in preparation for his successful parole hearing. Prior to law school, she served as a Jails Project Legal Intern at the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California.

Michelle received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. She also received her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Redlands with a dual major in public policy and women, gender, and sexuality studies.
